THE GIFT OF MUSIC AT ANCIENT CITY BAPTIST…
The Ministry of Music plays an active role in the worship experience at ACBC. There are a wide variety of
musical styles and arrangements blended into the worship services throughout the church year.
The Sanctuary Choir leads worship and provides music on a weekly basis at the morning worship service. This choir sings a wide variety of musical styles and lead in the worship service through the congregational hymn singing and prepared anthems.
Life Groups (Adult Sunday School) Classes
They start at 9:40 a.m. each Sunday Service. Come and join one of the classes!
Adult Life Groups

One of the most important ministries of Ancient City Baptist Church is our small group ministry that we call Life Groups.
While many churches refer to small group ministry as Sunday School or by another name, we use the term Life Group to better describe what small groups are all about. In small groups, we get to know each other better. We pray with and for each other, study God’s word together, minister together, and fellowship together—in short, we seek to do life together. While in worship we sit in rows and our attention is mainly focused on those leading us in worship, in small groups we are able to get to know each other and minister to each other and to our community together.
Following is a brief description of the different adult Life Groups currently offered at Ancient City Baptist Church. Please feel free to visit as many of the groups as you would like while seeking one that best fits you. You will receive a warm welcome in each group!
The Bible Believers
Room 205 (2nd Floor)
A discussion led group of adults who share each other’s burdens in prayer and dig verse-by-verse into individual books of the Bible to discover timeless gospel truths and applications to our modern lives. Jeff Jones leads this group.
The Upper Room
Room 222 (2nd Floor)
Is a coed adult group studying the Bible using the Bible Studies for Life curriculum. They are believers who love each other, love studying Scripture, and pray for each other. All are welcome to come share life with us! Chuck Lichtenberger leads this group.
NEW HOPE (Ladies)
Room 210 (2nd Floor)
is a group of ladies who enjoy delving into the Word of God, sharing what we know, discussing what we learn and encouraging each other. Our group studies the books of the Bible using information from various authors and other Bible translations. Sharing prayer requests and being faithful in prayer is one of our main focuses. We have a monthly offering to collect funds to support ministries (charitable organizations) and individuals who need assistance. Monthly luncheons are scheduled to relax, fellowship, and encourage. The group is led by Marilyn McKeen.
Bible Explorers
Room 220 (2nd Floor)
Is a coed adult group studying the Bible using the Explore the Bible curriculum developed by Lifeway Christian Resources. The group is led by David Sneller, who uses a discussion approach. All our regular attendees are 50 years or older.
Children & Youth
K-5th Grade
Room 102 (1st Floor)
Birth– Preschool provides a safe and loving environment for infants through pre-kindergarten for both the Life Group and Morning Worship hours. With God’s help, we hope to plant the seeds of the gospel by loving the little ones who are the next generation to come. Preschoolers start learning the gospel in a simple manner through stories, crafts and songs. The Life Group hour is led by Rhonda Parker and Susan Crutchfield leads the group during the Morning Worship hour. Room 102.
We desire to equip our children with knowledge of God’s Word that will form a solid foundation for them as they grow into their early teen years. Biblical lessons from the Old and New Testament are presented to display the glory of God, and through this, we pray our children will see their need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
K-5th Grade is led by Susan Crutchfield and Polly Burnsworth in Rooms 201 and 202.
Our youth, sixth grade through high school, are the next generation of Christ followers. Our desire is for our youth to know what they believe and why they believe it, and to live that truth as they become adults.
6th-12th Grade is let by Pat and Rod Foerch in room 303.
TeamKid
Wednesday Nights @6:15
Room 303 (3rd Floor)
TeamKID meets on Wednesdays at 6:15 p.m. in room 303.
(We take a break from time to time during holidays and for part of the summer)
TeamKID is a high energy discipleship ministry for children in 1st through 6th grade. Children will enjoy Bible study, games, snacks and more!
TeamKID is led by Pat and Rod Foerch.
ACBC - Public Parking Lots
Ancient City Baptist Church has guest parking available at multiple lot locations. One lot on Carrera Street and the other in front of the church on Sevilla Street.
